Spring 2023 Home Security Tips

Spring is around the corner, along with nicer, warmer weather. With enjoyable weather conditions comes the increased risk of break-ins and burglaries, which continue to rise into the summer months. Acadian Total Security wants to ensure that our client’s homes and businesses are prepared and protected. Here are some safety tips to help increase your security when spring hits:

  1. Keep your doors and windows locked at all times. This may seem obvious, but it is often overlooked. Make sure to double-check that all entry points to your home or business are properly secured before leaving.
  2. Make sure your security system is fully up to date. A security system can provide an extra layer of protection and deter potential burglars from targeting your property. Consider adding cameras and motion sensors to increase coverage and provide a record of any suspicious activity.
  3. Trim bushes and trees around your property. Overgrown vegetation can provide concealment for burglars, so make sure to keep your landscaping well-maintained. This will also increase visibility around your property, making it harder for burglars to go unnoticed.
  4. Be mindful of social media. It’s easy to share your plans and whereabouts on social media, but this can also make it easy for burglars to know when your property is unoccupied. Be cautious about what you post and consider adjusting your privacy settings.
  5. Get to know your neighbors. Building a sense of community can be an effective way to deter burglars. Keep an eye out for suspicious activity in your neighborhood and let your neighbors know when you’ll be away.

By taking these simple steps, you can increase the security of your home or business. Remember, the best defense is always a good offense, so take the time to do the extra little things to increase your safety.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
