How to Stop Continuous Beeping of your Alarm System During Loss of Power

Due to the inclement weather associated with Hurricane Laura, much of our service area may experience power outages.  If such an outage occurs, your alarm panel will emit a continuous beeping sound, alerting you that your panel is on battery power.  To silence this beeping reminder, you can try one of the following options:

  • Acknowledge the beep by silencing the alarm panel.  To do this, enter your code as if you were disarming your system to reset the panel.    Your system will continue to beep every 4-6 hours to remind you that you are running on battery power at which time you will have to re-enter your code to silence until your battery is completely dead.  If you do not wish to have to continuously re-enter your code, you can try the second option below.
  • Go to your main control box and disconnect the battery supply, which will stop all beeping and shut your alarm system down.  Once power is restored, you can reconnect your battery and your alarm system should work as before.

If you try these options and are still having issues, please dial 855.222.3426 (855.ACADIAN) and we will be happy to assist you.  We have extra personnel manning our monitoring centers to better serve you as we do expect an influx of calls due to the weather conditions.
Thank you for entrusting Acadian Total Security to protect you and those you love, especially in these uncertain times.
