Acadian Fleet

Maintaining an Efficient Fleet

Our sister company, Acadian Ambulance, maintains a fleet of more than 500 ambulances across Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. The ambulances travel about 38 million miles every year. With an eye on efficiency, we’ve been transitioning our fleet from box unit style ambulances to sprinter ambulances (shown in this photo). Sprinters are much more fuel efficient, averaging double the miles per gallon compared to a box ambulance. Our Acadian Total Security installer vehicles may not rack up quite as many miles annually as the ambulances, but we still focus on fuel efficiency! Our security vehicles average 27 miles per gallon, allowing us to travel farther and smarter. Thanks to our fleet maintenance department, we ensure that all company vehicles are emissionscompliant and in proper working order. A wellmaintained vehicle runs much more efficiently than a neglected one.

Green is More Than Just a Color

Living green is becoming more important to many consumers these days. When shopping for new items, sustainability or efficiency can be some necessary qualities in the items consumers purchase. Acadian Total Security shares in wearing the “Acadian Green”, a color rooted in south Louisiana since 1971, when Acadian Ambulance began service. The color has become recognizable throughout our entire service area, and it’s synonymous with the Acadian brand and reputation. But beyond the color, Acadian Total Security is dedicated to green products and reducing waste where we can. From the ways we make our vehicle fleet more efficient, to our efforts eliminating paper, to offering devices and services that help consumers save energy, we care about our impact on the environment.

Hurricane Preparedness

Hurricanes can strike anywhere along the U.S. Atlantic Seaboard, the Gulf of Mexico coast, Caribbean Sea islands and coasts, Pacific Ocean islands and coasts, and, rarely, the southern California coast.   United States coastal areas are especially vulnerable to hurricane destruction because of their topographical makeup and heavy population concentrations. The areas along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts where most of the U.S. hurricane-related fatalities have occurred are also experiencing the country’s most significant growth in population, according to the National Hurricane Center.  Everyone needs to be prepared for the unexpected; the time to prepare is NOW. Acadian Ambulance wants to you to be prepared before, during, and after the storm. Plan and Take Action Supplies Kit Put together a basic disaster supplies kit and consider storage locations for different situations. Since you do not know where you will be when an emergency occurs, prepare supplies for home, work, and vehicles. Keep your supplies […]

video surveillance

Video Surveillance – Home Security

Video Surveillance and Home Security Systems Video Surveillance and Home Security Systems are proven burglary and theft deterrents, and increasingly, video cameras and surveillance are a strong asset in these systems. Too often in the news, there are stories of delivery theft from front porches, attempted home break‐ins, and business burglary and theft. In many of these situations, the presence of video surveillance assisted law enforcement in providing evidence and identifying and apprehending suspects. Without video cameras, suspects have a greater chance of avoiding capture and arrest.  By setting up strategically placed video cameras and having them connected to your security system, you can view live, streaming video or receive clips and images of important events when they occur, and your alarm company can respond if a security threat occurs.  How can having home video surveillance benefit you? View video feeds from your smartphone, tablet or computer, giving you peace of mind. […]
